A good preparation is essential for the DUMAVA subsidy

DUMAVA 2025 is an opportunity for structural sustainability improvements to healthcare real estate.
But only for those who start on time.

The DUMAVA subsidy enables social organizations to accelerate the sustainability of their real estate. For healthcare institutions, this means investing with government support in measures that contribute to lower energy costs, CO₂ reduction and future-proofing.

What is DUMAVA?

DUMAVA stands for Sustainable Social Real Estate. It is a subsidy scheme from the RVO for schools, healthcare institutions, cultural institutions and government buildings, among others. The scheme encourages both individual sustainability measures and integrated renovation projects.

Eligible costs are reimbursed up to 30 percent for integrated projects. For individual measures this percentage is lower, depending on the type of intervention.

Why action is needed now

The application period officially opens on June 2, 2025. However, from 19 May, draft applications can already be saved in the eLoket. And that moment is crucial.

By then all the documents must be ready:

  • Energy advice report by an independent energy advisor

  • Overview of measures

  • Property description

  • Project budget

  • Three years of energy consumption data

You cannot submit without a complete file. And the available budget is limited. Experience shows that applications come in quickly. Those who start too late run a great risk of missing out.

What makes DUMAVA 2025 attractive?

  • 283.7 million euros available for integrated sustainability projects

  • Larger interventions such as WKO installations, insulation or roof renovations are also covered by the scheme

  • Subsidy per object, with room for one or more measures

  • Projects must be completed within 24 months of being awarded

Please note: a higher subsidy compensation applies to integrated projects. But also a more difficult preparation. The more ambitious the plan, the more intensive the process. Both in terms of time and documentation.
